Telekom Austria CEO Hannes Ametsreiter will shortly start talks with KPN about possible synergies as both companies now have America Movil as their largest shareholder, according to Austrian press agency APA citing Ametsreiter during a meeting with local journalists. Telekom Austria will present its first assessment about strategy and synergies since America Movil became a major shareholder during a capital markets day on 6 December. Ametsreiter said that he expects synergies to come from procurement, wholesale and content activities. He would not comment on possible strategies for expansion. In a reaction to Telecompaper, KPN said that it is continously in talks with parties about developments in the telecommunications industry. It would not react to Ametsreiter's comments.
