Telekom employers and workers agree on 6.5% pay raise
German united services union Ver.di announced that it has found an agreement with the employers of Deutsche Telekom in their wage negotiations on 07 May. The 50,000 employees will receive a pay raise of 6.5 percent over a period of two years. The salaries will increase in three stages through 31 January 2014. Ver.di also said that negotiations with Deutsche Telekom's T- Systems unit workers over wages will continue on 15 May. The agreement still needs to be approved by the union's salary commission in a Berlin meeting on 08 May.

Deutsche Telekom revenues drop 1.3%, EBITDA down 4.6%

Deutsche Telekom reports revenues of EUR 14.43 billion for the first quarter of 2012, down by 1.3 percent compared with the same quarter in 2011. The quarterly EBIT dropped by 4.6 percent to EUR 1.743 billion and the adjusted EBITDA amounted to EUR 4.48 billion down 0.1 percentage point year-on-year. Telekom Deutschland, T-Systems workers continue strikes

German united services union Ver.di claims that 15,000 Telekom Deutschland and T-Systems workers were involved in strike action on Friday 04 May. This is part of their ongoing wage dispute with the companies.

Ver.di plans fresh talks with Telekom Deutschland, T-Systems

German united services union Ver.di has agreed to hold further talks to resolve the ongoing wage disputes at Telekom Deutschland and its service divisions as well as T-Systems. The talks with Telekom Deutschland will resume on Monday 07 May, followed by talks with T-Systems on 15/16 May.

Deutsche Telekom and German united services union Ver.di have agreed to increase the wages of the operator's 17,000 employees by 6.5 percent over the next two years.
