Telekom reaches 200,000 customers on StreamOn

Monday 26 June 2017 | 09:27 CET | News

Around 200,000 customers are using Telekom Deutschland's StreamOn offer of zero-rated music and video, according to CEO Niek Jan van Damme. In an interview with the Rheinische Post, he said the offer introduced in April was a success and very well-received by the customers. In the coming days, he expects the service will reached around 50 content providers available for zero-rate streaming.

Van Damme further commented on the upgrade of Telekom's broadband network in North Rhine Westphalia. The region targets 95 percent of households with at least 50 Mbps by 2018. According to Van Damme, DT already offers the speed to around 82 percent of the 9.9 million homes in NRW.  By the end of 2018, it aims to have 86 percent receiving speeds of up to 100 Mbps, helping the region towards its goal.
