Telekom Slovenije abandons sale of Kosovo's Ipko

Telekom Slovenije has stopped the sale procedure of its 100 percent share in Kosovo-based operator Ipko Telecommunications. The process was concluded without the selection of a buyer. As a result, Ipko Telecommunications will remain part of Telekom Slovenije Group.

The Slovenian operator announced in July 2019 plans to sell Ipko. According to local media reports, the company attracted multiple local and foreign investors, including Telekom Srbija.

Kosovo telecom operator Ipko ended the first quarter of 2021 with a net profit of EUR 1.24 million, compared to a loss of EUR 886,000 in the same period a year earlier, according to the quarterly results of parent Telekom Slovenije Group. Operating revenue rose 9 percent to EUR 15.1 million, EBITDA was up 24 percent to EUR 8.36 million, and EBIT was EUR 1.94 million.

Telekom Slovenija has published a call for expressions of interest in the purchase of a 100 percent stake in TS Media. The company is the owner and operator of the Siol.net, Najdi.si and Bizi.si portals. Although Telekom Slovenije prefers the sale of its entire shareholding, it is also prepared to assess the possible sale of individual company assets, reports Sta.

Telekom Slovenije Group 9-mth revenues down 4% to EUR 440 million

Telekom Slovenije Group reported net sales revenue of EUR 440.0 million for the first nine months of 2020, down 4 percent from a year earlier. EBITDA fell a slower 1 percent to EUR 144.5 million, giving an EBITDA margin of 32.9 percent (+3%). EBIT rose 7 percent to EUR 40.1 million, while the net profit for the period was down 7 percent year-on-year to EUR 27.4 million. Net debt amounted to EUR 386.6 million at the end of September, down 4 percent.

Ipko sale attracts local, Albanian investors

The deadline set by Telekom Slovenije for submitting binding bids for the takeover of Kosovo telecom operator Ipko expired last week. According to unofficial information published by daily Delo, investors from Kosovo and Albania have expressed interest, as has Telekom Srbija, although this bid faces political opposition due to unresolved relations between Kosovo and Serbia. One of the interested bidders is Shkelqim Devolli, who heads a local food company called Devolli.

Telekom Srbija has entered the second round for the sale of Kosovo-based operator Ipko, reports Blic.rs. There are seven other bidders interested in the telecommunications operator owned by Telekom Slovenije.

Telekom Srbija bids for Kosovo's Ipko

The mayor of Pristina, Shpend Ahmeti, announced on Twitter that Telekom Srbija has submitted the highest bid in the tender for the sale of Kosovo telecom operator Ipko, reports Tanjug. He said that the Serbian operator offered EUR 155 million for the operator being sold by Telekom Slovenije.

Telekom Slovenije has initiated the sale of its 100 percent stake in Kosovo operator Ipko Telecommunications. The decision is in line with Telekom Slovenije Group's strategy for the 2019-2023 period, which the company said also includes the possibility of further consolidation through expansion or disinvestment in the markets where it operates.
