Telenor sells another 5.7% stake in Veon

Telenor has sold another 5.7 percent stake in Veon. This follows similar offerings in September 2016, April 2017 and September 2017 and reduces the Norwegian company's stake in Veon to 9.0 percent. 

The 100 million ADS were sold at a price of USD 2.16 per share, a small discount to Veon's latest price of around USD 2.35. The amount of shares sold was increased from an initial estimate of 85 million due to demand.

Telenor stoot 5,7% belang in het in Amsterdam genoteerde telecombedrijf VEON af

De Noorse telecomaanbieder Telenor gaat opnieuw haar belang in het aan de Amsterdamse beurs genoteerde telecombedrijf VEON verkleinen. Telenor heeft bekend gemaakt dat het bedrijf 100 miljoen aandelen in VEON, oftewel een belang van 5,7 procent in VEON, van de hand gaat doen. De verkoop van het belang wordt begeleid door Citigroup en JPMorgan en wordt naar verwachting op 29 maart afgerond.

Telenor representative steps down from Veon board

Telenor's representative Nils Katla is stepping down from Veon's supervisory board. The company has decided not to maintain a representative on Veon's board, after recently reducing its stake in the operator to 14.6 percent. Veon did not say whether the director would be replaced.

Telenor sells 5.1% stake in Veon, sees NOK 2.9 bln proceeds in Q3

Telenor said it is continuing the sale of its interest in Veon, formerly known as Vimpelcom. It is offering 5.1 percent of Veon's total outstanding common shares, leaving Telenor with about 256.7 million ADS, or about 14.6 percent of Veon's common shares. The underwriters have priced the 90 million common shares and ADS in the offering at USD 4.15 each, giving net proceeds of USD 365 million (around NOK 2.9 billion), which will be included in Telenor's third-quarter cash flow statement.

Telenor sells more Veon shares, to book accounting loss

Telenor is reducing its stake in Veon, formerly known as VimpelCom. The Norwegian operator announced the sale of 70 million shares in the company, out of the total 416.7 million shares of 23.7 percent stake it has in Veon. The sale of the around 4 percent stake in Veon was priced at USD 3.75 per share, resulting in net proceeds for the company of a total USD 259 million. In September 2016, Telenor already sold 164 million Veon ADS., as part of a strategy to reduce its exposure to the Eurasian markets.
