According to CEO Ton aan de Stegge, Telfort is about to make its first high speed HSPDA call or connection. Within a few weeks, Telfort will have HSDPA coverage in the Amsterdam region, including airport Schiphol. Telfort, however will not commercially launch the HSPDA service, as it will wait until the customer is asking for mobile high speed services. Telfort will roll out its HSDPA network in order to fulfill the legal obligation set by the ministry to have sixty percent coverage at the end of 2006. If the market demands a speedier roll-out and more coverage, Telfort is flexible enough to support this.
