Telia Sweden acquires MVNO Fello with 45,000 customers

Telia Sweden has announced the takeover of MVNO Fello on 01 July. Gothenburg-based Fello began trading in 2013, has around 45,000 customers and employs seven workers. It was operating on Telia’s network and will continue to trade under the Fello brand.

Telia said Fello is an innovative company with a strong brand, which has doubled its customer base since 2018 and which will complement its portfolio. The takeover does not require authorisation from the competition authority. Telia did not say how much it had paid for the company.

Nordic Communications Group, the parent company of Telness Tech, has announced the sale of its mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Telness to Telia Sweden. Telness has been trading as a B2B MVNO on Telia's Swedish mobile network. Swedish MVNO Refurbly said it has achieved revenue growth of 300 percent in 2022, without giving any specific figure. The virtual operator offers used phones with what it calls affordable data plans and circular phone insurance. It was founded this year by David Lundgren Fetah and former Telia CEO and GSMA board member Johan Dennelind is among the company's investors.

Telia Sweden and its brands Halebop and Fello are offering free calls, texts and MMS to and from Ukraine until 10 March in light of the situation there. Customers within Ukraine itself can use unlimited data roaming.

Telia Sweden Q2 net sales drop 5.4%, mobile base adds 65,000 users, business segment shows growth

Telia has reported a 5.4 percent drop in Swedish net sales for the second quarter and said like-for-like adjusted EBITDA excluding the impact of IFRS fell 4 percent. Telia added 65,000 mobile subscribers in Q2 and ARPU rose, and the enterprise segment showed growth, supported by implementation-driven revenues for IoT and datacom.

3 Sweden offers single, unified enterprise mobile subscription

3 Sweden said it is simplifying its enterprise provision by offering just one corporate mobile telelphony subscription, which provides unlimited internet use within Sweden and a much lower price. It aims to challenge the business mobile market and improve Tre's market share from the current 6 percent. It said this is the first major change made by new CEO Haval van Drumpt, who took up the role three months ago.

Telia wins Swedish P3 Connect Mobile Benchmark test again

Mobile network benchmarking consultancy P3 said that in conjunction with consumer testing magazine Connect, it had named Telia as the best operator in Sweden, for the third time in a row. Telia achieved the grade 'outstanding', Tele2 and Telenor were rated 'very good' and 3 Sweden achieved 'good'.

Telia Sweden Q1 net sales drop 4.3%, like-for-like adjusted EBITDA falls 6%

Telia Sweden reported a 4.3 percent fall in net sales in the first quarter of 2019 and a 6 percent drop in adjusted EBITDA on a like-for-like basis excluding the impact of IFRS 16, as legacy business continued to decline. It is still targeting a 3 percent drop in operational expenditure in 2019, and during Q1, some Swedish operations were moved to Common Products and Services to cut overlaps in product development and to create consistency in processes throughout Telia's footprint.

European Commission ends probe of Swedish mobile wholesale market coordination with no further action

Telia Company and Tele2 Sweden said that the European Commission has closed its inspection into potential coordinated behaviour in the Swedish mobile wholesale market, without taking any further action. Telia said the commission began the probe on 25 April 2017, when it and officials from the Swedish Competition Authority visited Telia Sweden's office in Solna. The commission visited three other Swedish mobile network operators on the same day.
