TeliaSonera names Dennelind as new CEO
TeliaSonera has appointed Vodacom International CEO Johan Dennelind as its new CEO and president. He will start work from 01 September and be available to the company from 01 July. Dennelind replaces Per-Arne Blomquist, who took over in February as acting CEO after Lars Nyberg stepped down. Blomquist will return to his previous role as CFO from September. 

Dennelind brings almost 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including time at Telenor in Sweden and Malaysia and with Vodafone subsidiary Vodacom in Africa. He was named CEO of Malaysian operator Maxis last year, but later said he would not take up the position in order to be closer to his family in Sweden.

TeliaSonera has fired its CFO and three other top executives following an independent review of its activities in Eurasia. TeliaSonera posts small rise in organic sales, profit lower

TeliaSonera reported a small drop in profits for the second quarter, but returned to organic revenue growth. Net sales in local currencies, excluding acquisitions and disposals, increased 0.4 percent, and EBITDA on an organic basis was up 3.3 percent. In reported currency, sales decreased 3.9 percent to SEK 25.274 billion, and EBITDA was down 1.2 percent to SEK 8.928 billion. TeliaSonera appoints Luiga as acting CFO

TeliaSonera appointed Christian Luiga, currently head of Corporate Control, as acting CFO. He replaces former CFO Per-Arne Blomquist who took over the roles of president and CEO of TeliaSonera after CEO Lars Nyberg stepped down at the beginning of February.
