TeliaSonera names Tele2's Olsson as COO

TeliaSonera appointed Anders Olsson as COO and head of Global Services & Operations and member of the TeliaSonera Group Executive Management team. Olsson has a long career at Tele2, most recently as EVP Strategic Projects. He joined Tele2 in 1997 and he has held a number of positions within the company. 

As announced in October 2015, TeliaSonera has combined Group Technology and Group Commercial into a Global Services & Operations (GSO) unit which is operational since 1 January 2016. In related news, Tele2 confirmed Olsson's departure and said there will be no replacement for the position of EVP Strategic Projects.

Telia Company said that Anders Olsson, chief operating officer and head of global services and operations (GSO) at Telia Company, has been appointed executive vice president and CEO of Telia Sweden from 01 June. Tele2 Sweden says dual brand strategy helps boost Q4 EBITDA

Tele2 Sweden said that net sales in the fourth quarter of 2015 declined to SEK 3.299 billion from SEK 3.373 billion a year earlier, but EBITDA rose to SEK 946 million from SEK 880 million, contributing to 2015 being the highest EBITDA year on record. It said its strategy of positioning its two mobile brands in different segments of the market, combined with smart pricing, is driving positive customer net intake, stable ASPU levels in its quality consumer brand, and the positive EBITDA development.

Tele2 vervangt CEO's in Nederland en Zweden, benoemt CFO

Tele2 maakt drie belangrijke benoemingen bekend. De post van CFO op groepsniveau wordt definitief ingevuld, waar nu een interim-CFO actief is. Daarnaast stelt de groep nieuwe CEO's aan voor de twee grootste groepsonderdelen: Zweden en Nederland. TeliaSonera takes SEK 7.2 bln charges for Eurasia, Denmark

TeliaSonera will report its Region Eurasia as discontinued operations in its full-year results and will be taking impairment charges totaling SEK 7.2 billion related to operations in Uzbekistan and Denmark. TeliaSonera combines group commercial and technology arms

Following the recent announcement that TeliaSonera is changing strategic focus to develop operations in Europe and Sweden, Soren Abildgaard has been appointed as acting head of the new combined Group Commercial and Group Technology unit. He is succeeded on 08 October as CEO of Telia Denmark by Morten Bentzen, previousy head of the enterprise division at the Danish arm. The search for a permanent head of the combined Group Commercial-Group Technology unit is under way.
