TeliaSonera to close Benelux office
Swedish/Finnish telecom carrier TeliaSonera has decided to close the company's office for the Benelux in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands. Its part of a further restructuring of the company. According to Jef Heyse, managing director for TeliaSonera in the Benelux its not a complete closing of the office but just a restructuring of it in a shared service center and a administrative unit. Jef Heyse himself is one of the victims of this restructuring, he looses his job at the end of May. The much smaller office in Hoofddorp after the restructuring won't have any management tasks, just sales and services. TeliaSonera is concentrating its management activities in three European centers: London, Frankfurt and Stockholm. The focus is now more on clients segments than on different countries. Jef Heyse: "The writing down on assets, the chapter 11 accidents and the continuing financial problems as a whole in the telecom sector forced TeliaSonera to take action."
