Telstra achieves 90/30 Mbps in FTTB trial
Telstra has achieved peak download speeds of 90 Mbps in its fibre-to-the-building (FTTB) trial in Melbourne with NBN Co. Upload speeds reached 30 Mbps. The trial, which uses existing in-building copper connections, will be completed at the end of this month and has been a big success for Telstra, ZDNet writes citing Telstra's group executive of regulatory affairs, Tony Warren. He said at the CommsDay Summit that the results indicated that NBN Co is well placed to offer FTTB, layer 2 wholesale services.
