Teracom warns of TV frequency transmission switch in Kronoberg county on 06 October
Swedish broadcasting transmission company Teracom said it will switch television frequencies on 06 October in locations in Kronoberg county such as Vaxjo, Vislanda, Alvesta, Almhult, Ljungby and Markaryd, affecting reception between 10:00 hrs an 18:00 hrs that day. This will affect viewers getting TV signals via an ordinary terrestrial aerial, both free-to-air channels and Tele2's Boxer pay-TV services.

State-owned broadcasting transmission services provider Teracom said it has changed its name to Teracom Samhallsnat to reflect its mandate to serve the common good. It said globalisation and digitisation have their benefits in terms of efficiency and sustainability but they also increase vulnerability. Teracom's remit has broadened to support society through terrestrial radio and TV transmission as well as communication services for essential sectors.

Teracom names Ronquist new CFO

Swedish broadcasting transmission services provider Teracom has announced the appointment of Elisabeth Ronquist as group CFO from 01 September. Since 2017, Ronquist has been working as a consultant at her own firm and has previously held leadership positions at Ericsson, among others.

Teracom mandate expands to providing communications services to critical sectors

The Swedish government has expanded the mandate of state-owned broadcasting transmission services provider Teracom to include provision of communication services to critical public services. Among other things, the government referred to the importance of secure and protected telecommunications to enable public life to function and to deal with any crises.

Teracom replaces transmission equipment in Mora

Swedish transmission services provider Teracom said it will carry out antenna replacement work at its Mora station from August until mid-October. This is likely to reduce signal power for Sveriges Radio channels P1 to P4, leading to poorer reception in the area. On 12 August, broadcasts will switch to a temporary antenna in Mora, and the channels will go off air from 05:00 hrs to 05:30 hrs, with some disruption at subsidiary stations in Malung, Transtrand, Rorbacksnas and Sarna.
