Thai state operators TOT, CAT discuss mobile merger

Thailand's state-owned operators TOT and CAT Telecom have discussed a possible merger of their mobile businesses to help ensure their long-term survival. CAT president Sanpachai Huvanandana said that after the merger, the two agencies would ask the government to extend their spectrum licences to support their long-term plan, The Nation reports. TOT president Montchai Noosong said that after they completed the merger plan, they would submit it to the State Enterprise Policy Commission for consideration.
