TIM to test 5G network during Giro d'Italia 2019
Telecom Italia (TIM) has announced that it will be running trials of its 5G network as official digital partner of the 102nd edition of the Giro d’Italia. In addition to airing the race on its TIMvision platform on the Eurosport Player app, the operator has installed 360-degree cameras along the route of the “Riccione-San Marino” time trial on 19 May. The 360-degree cameras will allow spectators to follow the stage in an immersive way via special virtual reality headsets at TIM's hospitality area as well as via large screens positioned close to the finish line.

TIM and Nokia last year confirmed full 5G coverage of the entire territory of San Marino, converting the the micro-state into the first nation in Europe with an active 5G mobile network.
