Trapeze Networks™, the award-winning provider of the enterprise wireless LAN (WLAN) Mobility System, announced that it has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Picopoint Technologies, a leading global technology service company for WLAN providers and carriers. In addition, PicoPoint Technologies and Trapeze have agreed to build out a Voice over Wireless IP Service to the WLAN Market.
PicoPoint Technologies’ GBIA™ business group focusing on solutions for secure roaming, clearing and settlement products and services to Mobile Carriers and ISP’s, already provides service on more than 14.000 hotspots in over 50 countries worldwide.
In 2004 Trapeze Networks and PicoPoint Technologies started the initial step in their partnership through the launch of the "Wireless WorkZone Alliance". Today Trapeze Networks and PicoPoint Technologies are solidifying their partnership even further. Trapeze Networks will offer their award-winning wireless local area networking (WLAN) Mobility System™ together with PicoPoint Technologies’ state of the art roaming and OSS/back-office services for the Enterprise and Public WLAN market.
The joint offer will be sold through Trapeze Networks Authorized Channel Partners and address the need for a one-stop-shop source for integrated public WLAN network operations, AAA, secure payments, billing, roaming and network management. Through this partnership, Trapeze Networks Mobility System customers in the WLAN market segment will benefit from a substantially shorter ROI period.
