Turkcell is introducing its brand Lifecell, used in Ukraine, into the Turkish market. The new brand aims to meet all of its customers' communication needs, including calls over the internet with a dedicated app, the operator said.

The company also launched a smartphone for Lifecell customers. GM6 Lifecell phones are shipped ready to use in Lifecell mode with all apps installed. The company offers three different packages, Super, Extra and Pro, which will include up to 50 GB of mobile data for apps. Lifecell customers will be able to make regular and video calls and use an instant messaging service via Turkcell's BiP IP-based communication application, launched in November 2015, Turkcell said.

All Lifecell plans will include unlimited calls and messages among BiP users and 1,000 minutes for calls to landlines and all mobile networks. On top of that, all plans will also include 2 GB of mobile data for Facebook and Twitter. In addition, all customer services will be provided digitally. The service centre, which is designed specifically for Lifecell customers, will be accessed via the BiP app, the company said in a press release. Lifecell customers will be able to receive live, non-stop support from this channel.

End-users are able to call both landlines and GSM numbers via BiP. Turkcell engineers included the feature of calling all mobile networks and landlines in BiP, which will enable Lifecell users to make unlimited calls not only to BiP users but also non-BiP users. At the same time, Lifecell plans include a very rich application world. Customers will be able to listen to unlimited music with their fizy accounts included in their plans, and they will be able to watch TV channels or movies via TV+ wherever they want. They will also be able to instantly read magazines and newspapers of their choosing. With LifeBox, they can store photos, videos and all other files in the cloud. The Upcall application will also show who the calling number belongs to even if it is not saved on the phone.

Of the apps available in Lifecell plans, BiP is the most downloaded with 15 million downloads, followed by Fiji with about 11 million, Upcall with 1.5 million, Lifebox with 5 million and TV + with about 4.5 million.
