Twitter daily usage falling among teens
The number of Dutch young people using Twitter daily has fallen sharply over the past year. This comes on top of fewer teens having the Twitter app on their smartphones, the latest data from the Telecompaper Consumer Panel shows. At the end of Q2, 46 percent of 12-19 year-olds with the app installed said they used Twitter daily, down from 80 percent in Q2 2013. Another quarter said they use Twitter weekly and 13 percent use the messaging service monthly, while 7 percent with the app installed never actually use Twitter.

Among all teens surveyed, 61 percent do not have the app installed, up from 43 percent two years ago. Daily use of Twitter was down in all age groups in the survey. Among 20-29 year-olds it fell to 45 percent from 58 percent two years, while monthly use rose to 27 percent from 18 over the same period. In total the consumer panel questioned 13,500 Twitter users over the period measured.
