Twitter rolls out Lite app in 24 countries

Twitter has announced the launch of its 'Lite' app in 24 countries after a successful trial in the Philippines. At under 3MB, the app is designed to load faster on a slow connection and to be "more resilient on unreliable mobile networks", with the company claiming a 50 percent rise in the number of tweets since it launched Lite earlier this year. Options include an offline mode and a data saver mode that only downloads the images and videos users want to see.
