Ufone, PTCL merge operations in Pakistan - report
Pakistani operators PTCL and Ufone have announced they have merged their sales and distribution, marketing, product and pricing, business operations and corporate strategy functions, local newspaper ProPakistani reports, citing unnamed sources. These departments from both companies will merge and will be managed by a single executive.

According to the same source, PTCL and Ufone have consolidated their Retail departments in a single unit which will be led by Jahanzeb Taj, in the newly created position of group chief sales officer. Taj currently serves as chief business operations officer at PTCL. 

The Marketing and Product, as well as Pricing Marketing and Product, and Pricing functions of PTCL and Ufone have been merged in a single unit that will be led by a group chief marketing officer (GCMO). Adnan Anjum, who currently serves as chief marking officer at Ufone, will take up the new GCMO role.

Shehzad Yousuf, currently chief internal auditor, will now head PTCL’s business operations as its new chief business operations officer. Moqeem-Ul-Haque will continue to lead the corporate strategy function as group corporate strategy officer of PTCL and Ufone, reporting to president and CEO. Moqeem-Ul-Haque will continue to manage PTCL’s customer care department.
