The UK government is close to formally announcing the launch of a new specialist cyber hacking unit to target terror groups and hostile states, reports The Guardian.
The government has been planning the new National Cyber Force, with around 500 specialists, for two years, but the launch has been delayed by disagreements between the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and GCHQ. According to sources, the unit will now launch in spring 2020, consolidating some existing cyber capabilities and developing new ones.
