The Ukraine communications regulator NKRZI has confirmed that mobile number porting (MNP) service will start on 1 May. The service will be supported by all three major Ukrainian mobile operators – Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine and Lifecell.
The confirmed date follows numerous delays, with the market waiting around four years for the regulatory framework to be put in place. The Ukrainian State Frequency Centre will act as an administrator of the MNP service.
Customers will be able to port their number to a new operator within three business days, or at a later selected date. The receiving operator may impose a fee for the service.
