Ultravision, Nokia to bring 4.5G services to Mexico

Mexican pay-TV and telecom operator Ultravision, part of the Ultra Telecom group, is to partner with Nokia to launch the country's first 4.5G network in the 2.5GHz band, reports business daily El Economista, citing the company's vice president Patricio Zorilla. Nokia's Mobile Core, VoLTE and Airscale RAN technology will allow the company to offer high-speed broadband and next generation video services on a linear and OTT basis when it becomes operational in the second half of 2017, said the report.
