United Internet, 1&1 Drillisch upgrade FY sales forecast

German operator United Internet said it now expects sales growth of approximately 4 percent this year, from the EUR 5.19 billion reported for 2019. EBITDA is still expected to be on a par with the previous year at EUR 1.26 billion. 

Its subsidiary 1&1 Drillisch expects sales growth for the full year of approximately 4 percent, too, compared to EUR 3,67 billion in the prior year. The company expects service revenues to increase by 2-3 percent from EUR 2.94 billion in 2019, while EBITDA is forecast unchanged on the previous year's level of EUR 683.5 million. 

A reason for the upgraded forecast was not given. The companies previously forecast flat revenues and EBITDA over the full year. 

The companies underlined that the guidance for the full year continues to be subject to uncertainties over the potential lasting impact of the Covid-19 crisis. They will release interim results for the first half on 13 August.

German operator United Internet said its sales grew by 3.4 percent in the first nine months of 2020 to EUR 3.98 billion. The coronavirus pandemic had an impact on sales, in particular on the Consumer Access and Consumer Applications segments, while in the Business Access segment like-for-like sales rose by 3.8 percent adjusted for the pandemic effects. EBITDA fell by 5.0 percent in the nine months to EUR 896.4 million, due to lower results in the Consumer Access segment.

1&1 Drillisch trims FY outlook as revenue growth slows in Q3

Germany's 1&1 Drillisch said its revenues increased by 3.1 percent year-on-year in the first nine months of the year to EUR 2.81 billion. Without the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, in particular the lack of international roaming revenues, which cost EUR 16.4 million, revenues would have increased by 3.7 percent, and service revenues would have increased by 3.4 percent.

German operator United Internet reported a 2.8 percent growth in revenues in Q4 2019 to EUR 1.33 billion. Revenues excluding hardware rose by 3.7 percent to EUR 1.14 billion. EBITDA in the fourth quarter decreased by 1.5 percent to EUR 321.7 million. EBITDA, including IFRS effects, remained almost unchanged compared with the same period in the prior year at a negative EUR 21.7 million.

German operator United Internet said its revenues in Q3 increased by 3 percent compared with the same period last year to EUR 1.31 billion. EBITDA increased by 1.6 percent to EUR 314 million.

German operator 1&1 Drillisch said that in the first nine months of 2019, its revenues rose by 1.3 percent to EUR 2.75 billion from EUR 2.71 million in the same period last year.  EBITDA declined by 3.1 percent, or EUR 16.1 million, to EUR 508.7 million.
