UPC Czech Republic launches Wi-Free service
UPC Czech Republic launched the service Wi-Free for all customers using the operator's internet service. The shared Wi-Fi network based on customer modems will be available free to over 440,000 customers. Wi-Free will allow a connection to the Wi-Fi network of approximately 220,000 households with compatible UPC modems. Shared WiFi will also be available to customers in other countries - Poland, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Hungary and Romania. The network will offer access to more than 5.5 million hotspots in total. The services shall be launched in additional countries in future, too. The Wi-Free speeds are up to 10 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload. The service allows connecting up to five devices to one modem.
