US court throws out Apple, Motorola suits

A US court has thrown out cases brought by Apple and Motorola Mobility against each other. US Circuit Judge Richard A. Posner in Chicago denied the requests for relief in an order issued on 22 June, ending a lawsuit started in 2010, Bloomberg reports. Apple was seeking an order enjoining Motorola products from infringing four of its patents, while Motorola sought an order barring Apple's infringement of one of its cellular technology patents. The judge said that neither party was entitled to an injunction, as neither had shown evidence of damages requiring a trial.
