Van Damme not interested in KPN CEO job

Deutsche Telekom's executive board member Niek Jan van Damme will stay on in his post and isn't interested in succeeding Ad Scheepbouwer as KPN CEO, according to Dow Jones Newswires. Van Damme said he likes his job at the German incumbent service provider and currently has no plans to return to the Netherlands. Van Damme served between 2004 and 2009 as CEO of T-Mobile Netherlands and joined Deutsche Telekom's executive board in March 2009; since July 2009 he is responsible for Deutsche Telekom's operations in Germany. Earlier this week, Duco Sinkinghe, CEO of Belgian cable network operator Telenet, said he isn't in talks to take over the top job at KPN. Both denials follow a report in Dutch newspaper Het Financieele Dagblad, which named van Damme and Sickinghe as possible successors to Scheepbouwer.
