Ventelo restructures business, creates Broadnet brand

Norwegian operator Ventelo reorganised its business by creating two business units, namely the data communications provider Broadnet and the mobile and fixed telephony provider Ventelo. Following the restructuring, the product offering will be significantly simplified, while the organisation will be adapted to the new structure. The announced product simplifications will be introduced in collaboration with customers. The company has also appointed new management teams within the business areas Broadnet and Ventelo. Broadnet plans to become a leading supplier of fibre-based data communications to businesses and operators. Ventelo was acquired by the investment fund EQT in February. EQT owns InFiber, a Norwegian operator that specialises in provision of dark fibre, which will work closely with Broadnet. Broadnet offers companies and other telecom operators a standardised and simplified product portfolio for data communications at high speed. The company controls a nationwide fibre network and will invest significantly in a rapid further development of the network. The company will use the InFiber brand in its cooperation with operators.
