Veon confirms talks with Ucom on possible Beeline Armenia sale

Veon has acknowledged recent media reports concerning a potential sale of its unit Beeline Armenia and confirmed it has entered discussions with Ucom on a deal. These discussions may or may not result in a transaction, Veon noted in a statement.

The statement follows news in late December that the Armenian branch of the Veon Group had applied to the national public service regulator in Armenia for clearance to sell its shares to Armenian operator Ucom.

Veon acquired the operator Armentel in 2006 and rebranded its to the Beeline name. Beeline Armenia is the largest fixed operator in Armenia and the country's second mobile operator.
