Verizon Fios offers free year of Netflix

Verizon Fios has started a new mid-winter promotion, offering a free year of Netflix premium to new customers who purchase Verizon Fios Gigabit Connection Internet or Fios Gigabit Connection Triple Play with a 2-year agreement. Existing Fios customers can qualify for the offer by renewing their term agreement. Fios will cover the cost of the Netflix premium services for existing Netflix accounts during twelve months.

Customers with Verizon’s new Fios TV One can stream Netflix in full 4K right to their 4K TV.

Verizon said The Weather Channel will be available to Verizon Fios TV customers on channel 611 beginning 24 June. Fios TV will start delivering channel signal to its customers the week of 24 June on channel 611 and via the Fios TV app later this fall.

Verizon forecasts modest revenue growth, flat earnings, higher capex in 2019

US operator Verizon reported revenues for 2018 up 3.8 percent and said it expects similar, low single-digit percentage growth in 2019. Adjusted EPS was better than expected, rising 26 percent to USD 4.71 thanks to tax benefits in Q4, but Verizon said it expects a negative impact this year from new accounting rules on leases. Capital expenditure will also increase this year as the operator ramps up its 5G roll-out.

Verizon upgrades Fios service with new TV One box

Verizon has unveiled a new TV platform for customers on its Fios fibre network. Fios TV One provides a voice remote with the WiFi-connected set-top box and support for 4K and online content. It's available to start in the Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, New York City, Upstate New York, Massachusetts, and Richmond, Virginia markets and will come to all remaining Fios markets throughout December and January.

Verizon offers free year of Amazon Prime with new Fios subscription

Verizon announced a new offer to boost growth in fixed broadband customers. New subscribers for a Fios Gigabit Connection will receive a one-year subscription to Amazon Prime free. Customers who also take TV and phone service in a two-year subscription will also receive a free Amazon Echo (2nd Gen).

Verizon upgraded its outlook for full-year revenue growth after reporting improving trends at its mobile business in Q2. The US operator now expects a low-to-mid single-digit percentage increase in revenues this year, driven by better-than-expected equipment sales, compared to a previous forecast for low single-digit growth.
