Verizon launches 100 Mbps symmetrical service in NY area
Verizon has added a 100 Mbps symmetrical tier to its FiOS Quantum Internet service in New York City, Long Island, the northern suburbs and northern New Jersey, following its recent introduction in Southern California. Triple-play on the 100 Mbps all-fibre service costs USD 89.99 a month, with a USD 300 Visa reward card, HD STB and premium channels for the first year. The price rises to USD 20 after a promotional two-year period. Special offers for new customers include 100/100 Mbps FiOS Internet for USD 54.99 and double play starting at USD 69.99. Verizon also offers symmetrical speed tiers of 25, 50, 75, 150, 300 and 500 Mbps.

Verizon pledges USD 300 mln investment in fibre in Boston

Verizon announced a major investment in expanding its Fios fibre network and services in Boston. The company and Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh signed a deal for the operator to invest USD 300 million over six years upgrading the copper network to fibre. Upon obtaining a licence, Verizon expects to offer Fios TV service in Boston, alongside broadband on the network.In addition, the partnership includes a 'smart city' trial that will address traffic safety and congestion in Boston.

South Jersey towns want statewide parity from Verizon

NJ mayors say Verizon ignores poor cities, forces FiOS

Verizon has been accused by around 50 New Jersey Mayors of neglecting poorer cities in favour of wealthy ones.
