Verizon is expected to announce the acquisition of CDN provider EdgeCast Networks in a few days, TechCrunch reported, citing sources. The deal could be work more than USD 350 million. Both EdgeCast and Verizon declined to comment on the matter. The deal is seen boosting revenues at Verizon's enterprise division, which would otherwise remain flat over the next year. The buy would also follow Verizon's acquisition of digital media streaming company upLynk a few weeks ago for a reported USD 75 million, as the carrier seeks to provide more ways to stream various types of content over its network.
