Verizon to launch Nokia Lumia 928 from 16 May
Nokia has announced the Nokia Lumia 928 smartphone, the latest instalment in Nokia's Windows Phone 8 lineup, exclusive to Verizon Wireless. The Nokia Lumia 928 features a 4.5-inch WXGA HD OLED screen, integrated 2,000 mAh battery, 1.5GHz dual core, Qualcomm MSM8960+WTR processor, Pure View 8.7-megapixel camera with auto focus, a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera with 720p HD video, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory and built-in wireless charging. The Nokia Lumia 928 will be available in white or black at Verizon Wireless stores and online beginning 16 May for USD 99 after a USD 50 mail-in rebate, with a two-year agreement. For a limited time, users can receive a USD 25 credit for Windows Phone apps and games with the purchase of a Nokia Lumia 928.

Verizon Maryland to redeem 7.15% debentures due May 2013

Verizon Communications has announced that its subsidiary, Verizon Maryland, will redeem the entire outstanding principal amount of its USD 250,000 7.15 percent Debentures, due 1 May 2013. The redemption date for the Securities will be 17 June 2013. The redemption price for the Securities will be equal to 100 percent of the principal amount of the Securities, plus accrued and unpaid interest to the redemption date, and will be payable on the redemption date.

Nokia offers peek at new Lumia smartphone

Nokia has launched a teaser video on its website for the Lumia 928, a smartphone expected to launch in the US with Verizon Wireless. While Nokia offered few details on the handset, it is expected to say more at an event planned for 14 May in London. According to the website, the new Lumia will have an 8.7 megapixel camera with the PureView imaging technology. Bloomberg reported earlier that Verizon will launch the phone in May.

Windows shows continued US growth in Q1

Verizon to offer new Nokia Windows smartphone - report

Nokia has struck a deal to get Verizon Wireless to sell its new smartphone, said two people familiar with the plan, according to Bloomberg.
