Canadian operator Videotron has unveiled Vrai (True), a Quebec subscription platform with unscripted, lifestyle, documentary and entertainment content. The French-language content will be on demand, with 40 exclusive originals. The operator wants to launch the new service this year and present close to 100 originals by the end of 2022, plus acquired international programmes.
Videotron said it will continue to invest “several hundreds of millions of Canadian dollars into new content. Vrai will offer new products each week, including several original productions each month, produced locally. The company said it is “thinking big” for the platform, which will complementary to Club illico, present in over 650,000.
The company did not give any pricing details, or specific information about launch dates.
