VimpelCom exits Cambodia market
VimpelCom announced it has sold its entire indirect stake in Soltelco in Cambodia to its local partner, Mr. Huot Vanthan. This marks the mobile operator's exit of the Cambodian market. No financial details of the takeover were disclosed. It was unclear whether Sotelco will retain rights to Vimpelcom's brand Beeline in the market.

Beeline to launch 4G in Phnom Penh by year-end

Cambodian mobile network operator Beeline plans to launch 4G services before the end of this year. The 4G network will be available in capital Phnom Penh in Q4, the Phnom Penh Post writes citing Hout Vanthan, the chairman of parent company Sotelco. Rival Smart Mobile launched its 4G service in selected areas of Phnom Penh in January. Smart Mobile CEO Thomas Hundt told the paper he is skeptical about Vanthan's timeline as rolling out 4G is a complex and lengthy project.

VimpelCom to pay final dividend 2012 of USD 0.35 per ADS

VimpelCom announced that the supervisory board has authorised the payment of VimpelCom's final dividend of USD 0.35 per ADS, or USD 615 million, in relation to the company's final 2012 results, bringing the total dividend in relation to the company's 2012 results to USD 0.80 per ADS. Vimpelcom to merge with 7 subsidiaries

Russian mobile operator Vimpelcom has decided to merge with seven of its subsidiaries, reports Tass-Telecom. These include Ural-Net, Ural-Intercard, Izhsvyazinvest, Novaya Svyaz, NTC, Helios-TV and Sakhalin Telecom Mobile.

Russian mobile operators MTS and VimpelCom announced that they have submitted a joint letter to Tele2 chairman Mike Parton and CEO Mats Granryd, expressing their interest in the acquisition of Tele2 Russia.
