VimpelCom launches Beeline IPTV platform
Russian and CIS mobile operator VimpelCom has launched IPTV services in Russia, under the Beeline brand. The IPTV service is powered by Microsoft's Mediaroom platform. Beeline TV subscribers will be able to access 121 standard channels and four HD channels, 3,000 on-demand programmes and movies and the Nash Football channel broadcasting matches from Russian Premier League, Russian Championship and indoor Russian Championship. The service also features DVR capabilities, as well as instant channel change and fast search using keywords. The Beeline TV service will be available in three package variants. The basic package with 100 channels will cost RUB 270 per month, while the advanced package with 125 channels will be available for RUB 495 per month. The third package variant also includes on-demand shows, for prices ranging between RUB 5 and RUB 100 per month. Beeline currently has over 800,000 broadband subscribers in Russia.
