Vipnet acquires RCS&RDS' DTH network in Croatia

Croatian operator Vipnet entered into an agreement with Romania-based operator RCS&RDS's unit Digi Sat to acquire 100 percent in Digi Sat's Digi TV Hrvatska DTH network. Digi TV will be integrated into Vipnet, and satellite television will become a standard part of the service offering under the Vip brand. Digi TV is one of the top providers of digital television services in the Croatian market and began operating in November 2006.
Digi TV provides satellite television service exclusively using DTH technology. Digi TV has 36 employees and posted total revenues of HRK 14.7 million in 2012. Digi TV's basic tariff plan costs HRK 45 per month and includes 41 TV and 24 radio channels.
The first move made by Vipnet after taking over Digi TV was to expand the DTH platform's content. Users can already follow the programmes HTV1, HTV2, RTL2, Doma TV and Mini TV. By the end of 2013, Vipnet plans to further improve the content of the DTH platform. RCS & RDS Group operates in six countries of southeast Europe.
