Virgin in talks to expand MVNO business model
Virgin Group is in talks to expand its virtual mobile network operator model to a number of other countries worldwide, including India, China, Canada and South Africa. Virgin Mobile USA has just registered its one millionth customer in the US. Virgin Mobile UK had over 3.1 million customers at end-Q3-2003, with Q3 EBITDA down to GBP 24.8 (EUR 36.41) million, from GBP 25.6 million, on sales up to GBP 112.6 million. Virgin Mobile UK aims to generate sales of GBP 600 million by 2004, with subscribers reaching around 4.5 million by end-2004.
