Virgin Mobile UK claims that it is still in talks with TeliaSonera with a view to acquiring the latter's mobile operations in Finland. Virgin Mobile has rejected media reports claiming that TeliaSonera has agreed to sell the Finnish business to Finnish mobile operator DNA, while TeliaSonera and DNA have refused to comment. The Finnish Kauppalehti newspaper has reported that TeliaSonera was in talks with Radiolinja, but withdrew once it knew that Elisa planned to form a JV with Virgin Mobile. The Finnish business of TeliaSonera has around 250,000 subscribers.
