Vodafone, Airtel, Idea sign 3G roaming pact

Vodafone Essar announced agreements for nationwide 3G roaming with rivals Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular, Dow Jones reports. None of the operators have nationwide spectrum for 3G, so the agreement will facilitate customers accessing services throughout the country. Vodafone Essar has 3G licences in nine of the country's 22 telecom service areas, Bharti has spectrum in 13 service areas, and Idea has licences in 11.
