Vodafone confirms Kleisterlee as new chairman
Vodafone confirmed that Philips CEO Gerard Kleisterlee will succeed John Bond as chairman of the mobile operator group. Bond will step down at the shareholders meeting in July. Kleisterlee will be retiring from Philips in March and will join Vodafone as a non-executive director from 1 April. Kleisterelee laso joined the Dell board in December and sits on the supervisory board of Daimler and Royal Dutch Shell.

Vodafone reported a continued improvement in organic revenue growth in its fiscal third quarter to December. Organic group revenue rose 3.5 percent from a year earlier to GBP 11.9 billion, and organic service revenue was up 2.5 percent to GBP 11.0 billion. Kleisterlee wordt de nieuwe bestuursvoorzitter van Vodafone

Philips-topman Gerard Kleisterlee wordt de nieuwe bestuursvoorzitter van de Vodafone Group. Dat heeft de Britse operator bevestigd. Kleisterlee, die Philips per 31 maart gaat verlaten, volgt Sir John Bond op. Sir Bond zal zijn functie neerleggen tijdens de aandeelhoudersvergadering in juli. Kleisterlee wordt per 1 april benoemd tot non-executive director. Sinds december 2010 is Kleisterlee tevens bestuurslid van Dell.

Philips CEO Gerard Kleisterlee is the frontrunner to become the next chairman of Vodafone Group, the Financial Times reports. People familiar with the matter said Vodafone has a shortlist of three candidates to succeed current chairman John Bond, and Kleisterlee is the mobile operator's preferred candidate.
