Vodafone Germany starts mobile phone recycling program
Vodafone Germany is the first mobile operator that starts with a mobile phone recycling program. Each Vodafone shop in Germany has free recycling bags, customers write their name and address on the bag and put the old mobile phones in the bag and dump it in the special recycle bin. The mobile phones will be picked up by Vodafone's recycling partner, Greener Solutions. Vodafone donates EUR 5 for each recycled mobile phone to a charity in the region where that phone has been disposed of. This action runs from April 14 until July 22, 2003 and everybody that delivers or sends an old mobile phone to recycle has a chance to win one of ten Vodafone live! mobile phones and if they are Vodafone customers 100 points for Vodafone's bonus program Vodafone Stars.
