Vodafone said it has met the minimum 75 percent of shares tendered in its bid for Kabel Deutschland. While the German operator's shareholders had been slow to accept the offer, the company met the required 75 percent by the expiry of the public bid on 11 September. The exact amount of shares tendered will be announced on 16 September.
Any remaining shareholders wishing to sell their stock can do so 17-30 September at the same conditions as the earlier bid. The acquisition still requires approval from the European Commission, which is expected to complete its initial review by 20 September. Vodafone first announced the agree takeover in June, for EUR 7.7 billion.
