Vodafone Greece enters partnerships with HBO, Amazon, opens up TV service to other networks

Vodafone Greece entered into an exclusive partnership with HBO in Greece to secure the exclusive rights to HBO's content for its Vodafone TV cable TV subscription service. In addition, Vodafone announced it's unbundling its TV package from the rest of its services, meaning Wind or Cosmote customers can also watch VTV by getting a set-top box for their TV that Vodafone offers for free with every subscription. HBO content was previously available in the country through satellite platform Nova.

All Vodafone TV subscribers can watch the HBO programmes, such as Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Girls, Boardwalk Empire, Westworld, Euphoria, Sharp Objects, The Night Of and True Detective. At the same time, each month, Vodafone TV's On Demand catalog will welcome new HBO series in Greece, such as The Outsider, Avenue 5, and The Undoing. Mini-series, documentaries, movies, docu-series and all the content of HBO will be constantly updated with new suggestions in the special On Demand category of Vodafone TV.

Vodafone TV adds Amazon Prime Video

Customers of all Greek telecommunications networks will be able to enjoy the renewed Vodafone TV through a single service. The service price is fixed at EUR 9.40 per month, which includes the decoder, so that all consumers can access the new upgraded content of Vodafone TV.

At the same time, Vodafone TV has added access to Amazon Prime Video over its platform. In addition, it offers the special menu Vodafone TV Kids, with content specially designed for children, as well as parental control functionalities. Vodafone TV will also soon be available through a smart TV app.

Greek telecom authority EETT to assist Attica region in digital development

Greek telecom authority EETT entered into a cooperation agreement on digital development with the Attica Region. The deal's aim is joint planning, development and completion of digital projects and programmes as well as digital education actions. The project will create 100 hotspots in 70 regional structures and 30 schools throughout Attica. EETT said it will assist the Attica Region, especially in matters of information and consumer protection.

Vodafone Greece increases data in Red postpaid plans

Vodafone Greece announced that it's multiplying the data provided in mobile subscriptions for existing and new contract customers, both private and professional, without any additional cost. For instance, consumer subscribers with Vodafone Red Start and Vodafone Family Red Start will get 3GB instead of 1.2GB, those with Vodafone Red Plus and Vodafone Family Red Plus will get 6GB instead of 3GB, and Vodafone Red Max and Vodafone Family Red Max end-users will get 20GB instead of 6GB, effective from 3 March.

Vodafone Greece announced that it's multiplying the data provided in commercial mobile plans for existing and new contract customers without increasing prices. For private subscribers, Vodafone multiplies the general use GB of the following Red and Family Red plans as of 3 March: Vodafone Red Start and Vodafone Family Red Start will include 3GB, up from 1.2GB, Vodafone Red Plus and Vodafone Family Red Plus will have 6GB, up from 3GB, while Vodafone Red Max and Vodafone Family Red Max's data will go up to 20

Vodafone Greece increased the nominal value of some of its commercially and non-commercially available programmes and packages, effective from 25 February. For instance, the prices of My Business RED 1 / 1N / 2 / 2N / 2 Extra / 3 / 3N / 3 Extra / 4, My Business RED Pass 1/2/3, My Business RED + 1/2/3 increased by EUR 3.60.
