Vodafone Greece has joined the FTTH market with the launch of the first connections in Vyronas. This follows the launch of OTE's FTTH network earlier in the month and fibre services by Wind Hellas. Vodafone offers Super Fiber plans at up to 200 Mbps.
The Greek digital minister Nikos Pappas attended the launch of Vodafone's network in Vyronas, a suburb in the Athens region, along with other local officials and the Vodafone Greece CEO Haris Broumidis. The network, supported by state subsidies for end-users, covers an initial 17,000 households in Vyronas.
A double-play plan with 200 Mbps broadband and a fixed line is offered at the promotional price of EUR 62.50 per month by Vodafone, down from the standard price of EUR 69.50. Vodafone mobile customers pay EUR 60.40 per month under the introductory offer and EUR 67.40 under the standard offer.
Vodafone also offers the FTTH service with 100 Mbps broadband. The double-play then costs EUR 53.40 for mobile customers and EUR 55.50 for others, with discounted introductory prices of respectively EUR 46.40 and EUR 48.50. The company has also reduced the activation fee to EUR 50 from EUR 200 in the introductory promotion.
On a triple-play with TV, the standard prices are EUR 65.40 for 100 Mbps and EUR 78.60 for 200 Mbps. The fibre service is also available for business customers under special offers.
