Vodafone, Netflix in UK TV, film service talks - report
Vodafone and Netflix are in talks to launch a TV and film service in the UK , reports The Telegraph newspaper. This would allow Vodafone customers to watch films and TV shows on their smartphones. Sources said the service could launch in the next few months. It would initially be offered free to new customers on superfast 4G plans for 6-12 months. After this, Vodafone customers would pay a flat monthly fee for the service. A deal with Vodafone could help Netflix with its European expansion plans, as Vodafone has a strong presence in Germany, Spain, Italy and Turkey. Vodafone declined to comment. Netflix would not confirm the talks, but said that it had multiple agreements with multiple operators.

Netflix has signed an agreement with UK internet TV platform YouView and is expected to become available on the platform by the end of the year, people familiar with the talks told the Financial Times. The US streaming service is also reportedly in talks to sign agreements with BT and TalkTalk to be offered on their STBs. If the deals go ahead, BskyB will be left as the only pay TV provider in the UK without on-demand services from other content owners.

Vodafone UK will activate 4G in Swindon on 22 May as it works to bring its 4G network to 98 percent of the UK population by end-2015. Vodafone UK is set to close its building in Burton, with the loss of more than 120 Vodafone Business Services jobs, reports the Burton Mail newspaper. Vodafone UK is introducing a fixed price promise, pledging not to increase customers' monthly line rental for their contract term. Vodafone cuts cost of EuroTraveller roaming option

From May to end-August, Vodafone UK is lowering the Vodafone EuroTraveller roaming option fee from GBP 2 to GBP 2 per day. It is also adding 4G roaming in Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain, allowing Vodafone Red 4G customers to use EuroTraveller to access Vodafone 4G in these countries.

Netflix strikes interconnect deal with Verizon

Netflix announced an agreement with Verizon to improve delivery of its streaming video service to Verizon broadband customers. The company said it had an interconnect arrangement with Verizon that should improve performance for customers in the coming months. No further details were disclosed. The agreement follows a similar arrangement Netflix reached with Comcast in February. Netflix is expected to pay the ISPs for improved access to bandwidth for its customers.

Vodafone delivers communications services to RWE in UK

Vodafone has signed a new multi-million pound, 7-year contract with utility company RWE to become its total communications partner in the UK. Vodafone will provide all network, voice and data services to RWE subsidiaries, including npower, from start-April.
