Vodafone has launched its 5G Broadband fixed wireless service in New Zealand. The service is currently available for customers in parts of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown. Vodafone New Zealand residential and business customers in the coverage areas can now access 5G download speeds, unlimited data and wireless connections for a starting price of NZD 69 per month.
The Vodafone 5G Broadband is available from NZD 69 per month on a 12-month term, including unlimited data and SuperWifi access. The SuperWifi service then allows Vodafone customers to extend the service throughout their home or business.
Also known as ‘fixed wireless access’, the Vodafone 5G Broadband service is available with a plug-in-and-go setup and offers unlimited data delivered via the mobile network, providing internet access without coordinating a technician or getting a fixed line installed or connected. The 5G Broadband launch follows Vodafone New Zealand announcement of a big network investment programme for 2021, with 5G coming to Tauranga and Palmerston North soon.
“We already have Aotearoa’s largest 5G network but are continuing to build out our coverage footprint, which will expanded significantly in 2021. 5G Broadband is also available with our super-popular SuperWifi, which offers wall-to-wall in-home Wifi coverage or a NZD 100 credit via high-tech mesh devices and customised support," said Carolyn Luey, consumer director at Vodafone New Zealand.
