Vodafone Spain CEO moves back to Vodacom
Vodafone has appointed Antonio Coimbra as chief executive officer of its Spanish unit, effective 1 September. Coimbra replaces Shameel Joosub, who will take over the position of Vodacom CEO. Coimbra most recently served as CEO of Vodafone Portugal. Francisco Roman will continue as president of Vodafone Spain. Joosub replaces Pieter Uys as CEO of the African unit. Uys has decided to step down at the end of March 2013 after almost 20 years with Vodacom, including four years as CEO. Joosub will take up the job from September this year. He was previously managing director of Vodacom South Africa and a director of the Vodacom board from 2000 until 2010.
