Vodafone Spain has unveiled a new service which allows customers to turn their mobile phones into a fixed telephone at home. In a statement, the operator said customers could save on average 24 percent on their fixed telephony bill by signing up for Vodafone In Your Home. Customers can decide to do without a fixed telephone number, paying a monthly fee of EUR 3 so that when they are at home their mobile handset can be charged at cheaper rates. Customers who want a fixed telephony number can pay EUR 15 a month which also includes unlimited calls to one chosen fixed line. They will be charged cheaper rates when the mobile is receiving calls at home and can then opt for any other mobile tariff for other calls.
