Vodafone UK announces new Red+ plan for families
Vodafone UK has announced the new Red+ price plan for families. This is a plan for multiple SIMs, designed to help families control and distribute different data allowances from a single account. The plan leader can attribute monthly data limits to each family member from their chosen overall monthly data limit. Everyone on the Red+ plan gets unlimited minutes and texts, with the leader able to change each person's data allowance at any time. Whenever someone is getting close to their data limit, both they and the plan leader will be alerted by text.

Vodafone UK has launched a new series of summer promotions, offering deals and discounts on a wide range of handsets and devices across pay monthly, PAYG, SIM-only and mobile broadband plans. Parents struggle with children's digital technology use

One third of parents wish they had more experience of using technology to play and be creative to join in with their child's digital life, according to a study by The Parent Zone for Vodafone UK. Vodafone, O2 sign deal to use Arqiva masts across UK

Arqiva has signed a new 10-year site share agreement with Cornerstone Telecommunications, a network sharing JV between Vodafone and Telefonica UK. The agreement will see Arqiva provide support on network consolidation and 4G LTE deployment across the UK. Cornerstone was set up in 2012 to create and manage a single grid network of telecommunication installations owned by both Vodafone and Telefonica UK.

Vodafone UK confirms successful VoLTE lab tests

Vodafone UK has successfully tested Voice over LTE (VoLTE) at its specialist laboratory in Newbury, less than 12 months after launching 4G services. CTO Fergal Kelly said the trial of VoLTE was the company's next major innovation and hugely important as it continues to expand its network. Vodafone's 4G network currently covers 263 larger cities, towns and districts across the UK, as well as thousands of smaller communities.

Vodafone UK wins Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation

Vodafone UK has been awarded the Government's new enhanced cyber security accreditation, Cyber Essentials Plus. The company's customer and internal information and IT systems were tested by auditors for compliance to the new standard, and had to achieve a 100 percent pass rate. Vodafone claims that it is the first telecoms provider to be awarded this new accreditation. The accreditation is part of the two-tier Cyber Essentials Scheme that launched on 05 June.

Vodafone UK to sell Chromecast in shops

Vodafone UK announced that it will start selling Google's Chromecast media streaming device in its shops. Vodafone Red customers will be able to buy the device at the discounted price of GBP 25, while other customers pay GBP 30. This follows earlier media offers from the mobile operator for discounted or free access to Netflix, Spotify or Sky Sports Mobile. Chromecast plugs into the HDMI port of a TV and allows users to 'cast' content from their smartphone, tablet or computer to the TV screen.

Vodafone UK quarterly service revenue falls 3.2%

Vodafone UK reported service revenue down 3.2 percent year-on-year to GBP 1.472 billion in its fiscal first quarter to June. This includes the Cable & Wireless Worldwide acquisition on an organic basis for the first time and compares to a drop of 4.0 percent in pro forma service revenue in Q4.
