Vodafone, Wind Hellas make joint bid for Forthnet
Vodafone and Wind Hellas have made a joint bid to acquire rival Forthnet in Greece. Both already have minority stakes in the company, while Greek incumbent OTE recently confirmed it was in talks to buy Forthnet's pay-TV business. The Vodafone-Wind bid is worth EUR 1.70-1.90 per share, subject to due diligence, Forthnet said. That compares to a closing price of EUR 1.70 the day before their interest was announced. Forthnet also said that there has been no further developments in OTE's interest in the Nova TV business.

Vodafone extends option on Forthnet shares

Vodafone has extended its option to buy more shares in Greek operator Forthnet from Wind Hellas. The companies first announced an agreement in June 2014 giving Vodafone a one-year option on a 13.25 percent stake in Forthnet held by Wind Hellas. Forthnet in talks with banks on convertible bond issue

Greek operator Forthnet is considering raising EUR 100 million in a convertible bond issue, CEO Panos Papadopoulos said in an interview with Bloomberg. Wind Hellas, Vodafone plan Forthnet bid in new year

Wind Hellas and Vodafone expect to make a joint bid for Forthnet in the new year. Forthnet considers refinancing as Q3 results fall

Greek operator Forthnet reported third-quarter revenues down 5.0 percent year-on-year to EUR 89.5 million. The company said around half the decline was due to business revenues for which the company act as an agent, while cuts to fixed termination rates took around EUR 2 million off revenues. Forthnet still considering OTE, Vodafone/Wind offers

Greek operator Forthnet is still considering rival acquisition offers from OTE and a consortium of Vodafone and Wind Hellas, according to a statement from Forthnet shareholder Go. Greek pay-TV provider Nova has reached 500,000 subscribers. The service is owned by fixed operator Forthnet, which attributed the milestone to growing sales of its triple-play offers. Vodafone to acquire Greek operator HOL for EUR 73 mln

Vodafone has agreed to buy control of Greek broadband provider Hellas Online. Vodafone already holds an 18.4 percent stake in HOL since 2009, and the two work together in the market bundling fixed and mobile services. Vodafone Greece has agreed to acquire another 72.7 percent of HOL from Intracom for EUR 72.7 million cash. Vodafone Greece recorded a 5.8 percent year-on-year drop in organic service revenue in the fiscal first quarter to June to the equivalent of GBP 125 million. OTE makes takeover bid for Nova TV

Greek operator OTE has made a non-binding bid to acquire the pay-TV service Nova from Forthnet. OTE said the bid was worth EUR 250-300 million excluding debt and cash on hand. Forthnet announced that Vodafone Greece has raised its direct participation in the share capital of Forthnet from a percentage lower than the minimum reporting threshold, corresponding to 115,719 common shares, to 6.51 percent or 7.16 million shares and voting rights.
